What are we making Monday? BLAT sandwiches of course! What the heck is a BLAT sandwich? Well, let me tell you, it’s a twist on the traditional BLT. Nothing tastes like summer more than a BLT. Crisp, delicious bacon, Fresh, ripe tomatoes from the garden, light and crispy lettuce, mayo, toasted bread….oh my goodness, need I say more?!? The only difference is adding a healthy avocado that adds a bit of creaminess to the equation. Can you say yes, please?
We need to hang onto summer as long as we can! I am a total solar powered sunshine baby. So, let’s keep the summer vibe alive!!
BLAT Sandwich
Ingredients
- 2 slices your favorite bread Texas toast, multigrain, white, wheat, Italian, ciabatta…
- mayo
- 2 slices ripe tomato
- 2-3 strips bacon, cooked
- 2 crisp lettuce leaves of your choice iceberg, romaine, butter, spring mix
- 1/4 avocado sliced
- alfalfa sprouts optional
Instructions
- cook bacon, either by grill, oven or skillet
- Slice tomato and avocado
- Wash and prepare lettuce
- Toast bread
- Layer bread with mayo, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado. Add more mayo to second slice and add to top. Cut in half and enjoy!
